Fuck Lords of Dogtown and fuck that has been Tony Alva! Tony Alva is nothing but a drunken worthless pig of a skateboarder who thought he had it all and thinks he is going to become a legend after this movie comes out. If anything he is a nobody couchsurfing from girlfriend to girlfriends house alienating any sponsors that tried to have anything to do with him post skateboarding.
Hey note to Tony Alva I am sorry skateboarding progressed and you couldnt learn the new bag of tricks and haven't learned one new one in over 20 years. Please go away and die already, you are worthless to society and the sport!

Wooh, that was harsh Gretschy!! Your always so damn funny!!
Well I intend to watch the movie. In fact I thought I was going to see it last week, but it was just the Lords of Dogtown premiere with an art gallery, not the showing of the movie. All in all it was a blast. Tony Alva most definately thinks he's the shit, and that movie is going to be huge. His ego will be ultra inflated and he will continue to be the womanizer that he is.
That night, he hit on my girlfriend which he claimed to have mistaken her for Luceros wife when he first started talking to her. So my friend calls John and he says, oh yeah hes always had a thing for my wife.
A story that MoFo told us that night about Tony was that when he took his picture to put on the cover of Thrasher, Tony said that now he was going to get more pussy than ever. Mo said I dont think its humanly possible to get any more than you already do Tony.

Damn Gretschy, looks like Tony has really effected you'r life one way or another. I Never really knew who he was untill "Dog Town and Z-Boys" came out. But still didn't care. Not from my generation. What ever though. I'm sure he wishes he ended up like Stacey Peralta or Jim Muir.

roots, respect the roots... most skaters, especially in the 80's were just as you described... a good sport for people who do it their way and dont give a fuck... only the golden boy is left.. what about hosoi, gator and the rest of the old school skaters, for sure Alva isnt all that but he was big part of the begining... got to respect that.. are u a pro or something...saying he cant handle today's bag of tricks can you... as far as crashing on couches and getting ass, dont think much of that has changed...

You wanna know about former pro skater Gator? He's doing 25 years upstate for raping and killing a friend of his girlfriends. Check out the documentary "stoked"

Yeah, I went to that premiere earlier that night at the Orange County Museum of Art. It was very interesting to watch. What a psycho.
We went to both premieres with Mo Fo (Thrasher photographer) who was in the Stoked movie, and stayed to answer questions for people at the end of the show. Mo was actually close to Gator, and quit the skateboard business and moved to New Mexico, after that whole tragedy. He's just recently got back into the business. He'll be flying back out next week for Duane Peters movie premiere next Friday. He's the narrator on Duanes movie.

i know well about gator..my point exactly.. alva was not a punk amongst choir boys.. just thought it was lame how gretsy attacked him, i mean you have to respect the guy for what he did for skating.. he was one of the pioneer's... gator was not but ..who he is has nothing to do with him being a good skater back in the day... my point is you have to respect this guy for what he did for skating.. same for gator is he a psycho yes.. but was he a hugh influence in the early days of skating... just ask Vision...

You act like the sport wouldnt have progressed without the guy? Apparently you have bought into the bullshit stories that Thrasher has sold you over the years along with other bullshit hype machine publicity bait that Sony wouldnt mind you believing as well.
The sport would have gone on without him. The sport is the sport and it embodies an energy that isnt defined by one man or one "legend" He is a bitter guy who deep down knows he lost the game of life and will forever go down in infamy as a joke to those that know his REAL story. I have watched this guy go up to KIDS at the key club and start fights with them. I don't want to go into specifics of what happened there are a lot of people I know in the business that dont need the story told but after his one drunken night of utter ridiculousness from headbutting kids to trying to tell people within the industry that WERE financing his sponsors they sold out skateboarding!! For one thing it isnt anybodies fault that everybody progressed you into oblivion and when these people tell him that he wants to fight but when it comes to actually fighting he grabbed his girlfriend and told them to talk to her. He fucked his own life up and for that yeah he is a legend...... a legendary pussy. Oh yeah that night he lost his sponsors and lost his own line of skateboards! What a great night for him. They werent even selling AFTER his big comeback so it wasnt a big decision to really decide to cut him.
As much as you hate it Tony "Goldenboy" Hawk did his thing and did it smart. He made smart decisions and didnt get stuck being a drunken loser. He kept his ego in check before life checked him. He won , he is rich, he is taken care of and well hey he made the sacrifices he deserves what he gets as well as Alva being a miserable clown and getting what he gets.
